JetBoat Superchamps 2 is the second edition of this series (JetBoat Superchamps is also available). As the previous edition in JetBoat Superchamp 2 you’ll be riding a JetBoat. This type of navigation vehicle is powered and steered by a jet of water created by a powerful turbine. Thanks to this kind of propeller you get the most maneuverability when you are accelerating because that’s the moment when the water jet is biggest. You have to complete a course as fast as you can while navigating through buoys, and taking very good care not to miss one.
So, for those who know the previous edition of this game let’s try to point out what the differences of this new edition are:
- Improved and smarter graphics.
- More tracks to race.
- More champs to compete.
- New and more powerful sounds.
One interesting thing about this game is that it offers three different environments in which the game can be played. This help not to get bored any soon. One of the scenarios is called Pacific; named after the ocean, you’ll be riding your jetboat in open sea. Then you have Subway scenario; as its name suggest, you’ll be racing through the subway tunnels. Finally, you have Fjords scenario.
To complete each race, you must pass through a series of 'gates' around the track. It is possible to miss a gate, but this will gain you a Fault. If you get 3 Faults, you will be disqualified from the race; however, every 4 gates successfully passed results in a Fault being given back. Tactical racers may therefore bypass gates occasionally to gain a racing advantage. Obstacles around the track include jumps, hidden rocks and scenery features such as jetties and boats. Each course has a boundary - stray too far outside and you will be given a limited time to return, or risk being sent back to the beginning again.
Regarding controls, this game is designed to be played from your PC keyboard. You’ll be able to control everything with a set of less than 10 keys.
